TD SYNNEX chooses JHernando to automate its new logistics centre in Spain
TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX), a leading global distributor and solutions aggregator for the IT ecosystem, has chosen JHernando to automate its new logistics distribution centre in Guadalajara (Spain).
Our spanish company, which specialises in the engineering, manufacture and integration of intralogistics automation solutions, has installed a modular TramoSort sorter with multiple outcomes, designed to improve goods sorting and strengthen the efficiency of TD SYNNEX’s distribution operations across the Iberian Peninsula.
TD SYNNEX has recently started operations at the Guadalajara facility, which has been designed to increase its service capacity in Spain and Portugal. In this context, JHernando has contributed its expertise as an engineering company specialised in conveyor, sorting and automation systems, supporting the distributor throughout the entire technology implementation and commissioning process.
Operational optimisation
The project developed by JHernando consists of an automated sorting system designed to organise and channel goods flows to their corresponding logistics destinations. The solution will help speed up shipment preparation, improve load distribution by route and reduce operating times, while enabling greater traceability in a centre designed to handle high-volume activity.
The implementation carried out by JHernando for TD SYNNEX includes an in-house manufactured TramoSort sorter with a capacity of up to 5,000 parcels per hour, designed to sort orders by delivery destination, customer or transport company. The system features three separate induction points (two at ground-floor level and one on a mezzanine level) depending on the type of operation.
To sort goods towards the 17 outcame points, where mixed motorised/gravity chutes return parcels to the ground floor, the system is equipped with a certified analyser featuring continuous weighing scales, autofocus volumetric measurement and five-sided barcode reading via cameras. The technology also includes a recirculation carousel that maintains operational continuity and prevents line stoppages, thereby optimising performance.
“The installation of the sorter represents a key element in the operations of the new centre, as it enables more efficient shipment management and helps strengthen TD SYNNEX’s ability to provide a faster and more accurate service to its customers in Spain and Portugal,” says Juan Francisco Hernando, CEO of JHernando.
“From the outset of the project, our collaboration with JHernando has been highly fluid and focused on finding the most suitable solution for our operations. Their technical expertise and their ability to support us throughout the different implementation phases have been key to integrating a flexible sorting system that meets the centre’s current needs and provides us with greater efficiency and service capacity for Spain and Portugal,” says Roger Hyam, Director of Logistics for Iberia at TD SYNNEX.
The collaboration with JHernando has not been limited to the manufacture and supply of the equipment. The company has supported TD SYNNEX throughout the different phases of the project, from needs analysis and the definition of the most suitable solution through to the integration of the system into the centre’s operations.
JHernando thus reinforces its position as a specialist provider of sorters, conveyors and automation solutions for logistics centres, e-commerce, parcel delivery and industry, delivering projects tailored to each customer with modular and scalable solutions for highly demanding logistics operations. This comprehensive approach enables the company to help its customers increase productivity, improve sorting accuracy and optimise the resources available in warehouses and distribution centres.
TD SYNNEX’s new centre in Guadalajara is set to become a strategic hub for technology distribution across the Iberian Peninsula. The incorporation of cutting-edge automated solutions such as the sorter helps provide the facility with greater operational capacity, flexibility and efficiency in goods handling.
